Waldo Ocaña began teaching professionally at the esteemed Degerberg Academy (the largest Martial Art’s school in the country with a roster of over 5,000) where he earned distinguished honors. It was while he was there, that he had the opportunity to train with luminaries such as Dan Inosanto and Larry Hartsell (part of the nucleus of Bruce Lee’s inner circle), ring legend’s Bill Wallace and Benny the "Jet Urquidez" and last but not least Fred Degerberg who is warehouse of information and a great friend. It was while he was there that he was introduced to more exotic Arts, such as Muay Thai, under the tutelage of Master Chai Surisate, and Kali and Escrima (Filipino weapons systems) with Dan Inosanto and under the guidance of Masters Angel Kabalis and Jimmy Tacosa. Waldo later went on to found his own school and evolved his style of Jeet Kune Do, a system conceived by Bruce Lee which draws from many other systems. His first school STUDIO 833 consisted of an international clientele which included law enforcement and military personnel.

Thai Boxing – is the most brutal and effective use of legs, knees and elbows.
Wing Chung – is a close quarter, hand-to-hand system which is all about technique and speed.
Kali/Escrima – Originating in the Filippines, it is a system based on sword and dagger techniques. Yet, once well grounded in the principles, a fork and an umbrella have the same potential of becoming deadly weapons in the hands of an Escrimador.
